In Vitro testing


For the study of vaccine immunogenicity, samples collected for the appropriate animal models will be tested in vitro. To this end Artemis Bio-Support use different routinely developed assays or will develop the specific assays for the client. Examples of assays include:


– Enzyme-Linked ImmunoSorbent Assays

– Hemagglutination Inhibition (HAI)

– Complement-dependent and independent neutralization assay

– Virus isolation and sequence analysis

– ELISpot assays

– Epitope-mapping

– Antibody avidity and affinity

– Antibody-Dependent Cell Cytotoxicity (ADCC)

– Glycosylation profiling of antibodies

Preclinical antiviral drug discovery

Both established continuous cell lines and primary cell cultures continue to be invaluable for basic research and for direct applications. In vitro systems have refined our insight into disease mechanisms and provided useful platforms to identify potential therapeutic approaches. An important advancement in cell culture techniques includes the introduction of three dimensional culture systems. Such cultures have proven to be closer to in vivo natural systems, thus proving to be useful for many applications. The use of 2D and 3D cell cultures derived from stem cells and primary cells, would allow greater predictability of efficacy and toxicity in humans, in a phase before drugs move into clinical trials. Artemis Bio-Support uses both cell culture models and make a choice for the best model after close deliberation with the client.
